In Acting 1: The Basics of Being Funny, we will dive head first into the essentials of creating sketch characters. With a focus on PLAY, we will start with the basics of improv and then transform it into the world of sketch comedy. We will also dabble with monologues and fool around with cold reads. Learn the art of impersonating people and the craft of creating fictional ones. Get in the game, folks! This is sure to be a wild ride!

Instructor: Millie DeBenedet
Millie DeBenedet is from Northville, Michigan. She graduated from DePaul University’s Theatre School with a BFA in Acting. Millie has worked with KML for the past 2 years. Other comedic credits include Genittti’s Hole-In-The-Wall, Second City Detroit, and BATS Improv. Millie is also a film and voice-over actress here in the Bay Area. Those credits include Stride Gum, Google, Yahoo, Atlassian, Microsoft, and Leapfrog.
