Lobsters Build Community in the Mission

Sitting across from the roasting chicken proved in the end to be too taunting…I eventually caved to a Roli Roti dinner before the afternoon was done.  Just across the way KML was posted all afternoon, hocking lobsters, roasting ourselves on the hottest day of the year and indulging the cheap aguafrescas that seemed to be the most necessary accessory of the day.

Last Thursday KML’s Admin team of Claire Slattery and Andrew Packard hit the streets, joining our office-mates at Mission Community Market to do a little selling of our own.   Hey, where else can you pick up locally grown, organic Lobster for prices as low as ours!!!!  All the kids loved our singing dancing crustacean and, while Mom and Pop relished a few minutes of peace we convinced a few of them to take classes and see a show.  If this beautiful Bay Area summer keeps up maybe we’ll be back again and if you haven’t been you need to check it out, the Strawberries were to die for!

The Mission Community Market happens every Thurday afternoon 4-8p at Bartlett and 22nd.  Check it out and who knows you may even go home with a Lobster.

826 Valencia Youth Workshops

On Saturday, March 23, Killing My Lobster performed sketches written by students in our recent comedy writing workshop where we partnered with 826 Valencia here in the Mission District. The workshop series was taught by Gina Bardi, Millie DeBenedet, and Meghann Hayes. The final performance was a huge hit! A mega huge hit! There were big laughs all around. It was a great end to the series of winter workshops that were held at 826 Valencia, and an even better way to usher in spring!
