In Killing My Lobster Kisses a Toad,KML visits and reinvisions fairy tales from the well-known (Little Red RidingHood) to the seldom heard (The Three Heads in a Well).  Promising laughs for young and old, from Little Boy Blue to the old woman in theshoe, Killing My Lobster Kisses a Toad is the first sketch production in thegroup’s seven-year history conceived and directed by a female member: MelanieCase. Case will lead the writing process of the show, incorporating tales fromthe Brothers Grimm and Edward Gorey into the writing process, and encouragingperformers to improvise with established characters from the first day ofrehearsals forward. Information on casting and designers will be forthcoming.Killing My Lobster Kisses a Toad is made possible by support from TheFlieshhacker Foundation. “As a genre, sketch comedy delivers laughs by stretching the conventions ofreality to create really ‘out there’ situations,” says Case. “In using thisgenre to tackle fairy tales, which are already fantastical and absurd to beginwith, I am expecting some very fun and off-the-wall creations. Kisses a Toadwill offer new variations on the fairy tales we all grew up with, and offersome original new stories based on what comes from revisiting these wonderfuland dark ancient stories.”  KILLING MY LOBSTER is a Bay Area non-profit theater and film production company.Hailed by the SF Chronicle as “the closest thing we have to Second City” andheralded as “an orgy of comic genius” by Comedy Central, KML has createdoriginal work for HBO, is a two-time winner of the Best of the Fringe Award atthe SF Fringe Festival and was voted "Best Comedy Group" by the San FranciscoBay Guardian. The group also produces the annual Hi/Lo Film Festival, monthlyKabarets at the Make-Out Room and has created numerous award-winning shortfilms taking home the Golden Spire Prize at the SF International Film Festival. For more info: www.killingmylobster.com.
