Many sketches are written for each show we produce. KML Faces the Music is no different! Below, take a peek at a fun sketch written for the show by Daniel Lee (pictured). The premise of the sketch is that there is a singer who loves singing in innapropriate situations/scenarios... Only he finds out that they are innapropriate just a tad too late. Enjoy! The Inappropriate Singer
by Daniel “Smiley” Lee
The Inappropriate Singer stands alone in a spot. The rest of the
stage is dark. He sings a melancholy, depressing song about a
heart-wrenching break-up. Lights up on the rest of the stage, revealing
a bachelorette party: girls wearing party hats with beer bottles in
their hands. They stare silently at the inappropriate singer,
bewildered and disapproving. We hear a toilet flushing; a male stripper
(re)enters and says, “What did I miss?”
The Inappropriate Singer stands alone in a spot. The rest of the
stage is dark. He sings a kid’s song, something about how stealing is
bad or drugs are bad or something equally simplistic and naive. Lights
up on the rest of the stage, revealing three Supreme Court justices in
full robes. They stare silently at the inappropriate singer and at each
other.
The Inappropriate Singer stands alone in a spot. The rest of the
stage is dark. He sings a song, any song, and ends triumphantly. Lights
up on the rest of the stage, revealing a few deaf people. They sign to
each other, “Who the fuck is this guy?” “I have no idea,” etc.
The Inappropriate Singer stands alone in a spot. The rest of the
stage is dark. He sings a sexually provocative song a la “Sexual
Healing” by Marvin Gaye. Lights up on the rest of the stage, revealing
Catholic priests in full garb. They are turned on and into it. The male
stripper from before enters with another priest and says “Who’s next?” |
