BACKSTAGE MANAGER
ABOUT: KML is seeking a Backstage Manager for Triple Feature, a live sketch comedy show composed of 9 rotating productions, running Thursday- Saturdays May 16th-25th at PianoFight (144 Taylor St, San Francisco, CA) and May 30th - June 1st at Flight Deck (1540 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizing props and light furniture backstage throughout each 60 minute performance
Coordinating with actors backstage
As each performance is comprised of three 20 minute shows with different casts, the Backstage Manager will be responsible for ensuring the teams on deck are ready to take the stage as the previous cast is finishing up
Assisting with load in and strike
Attending/participating in three rehearsals, three days of tech, two production meetings, all performances, load in, and strike
Will report to Stage Manager and Producer/AD
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and carry items up to ~20 lbs
Comfortable speaking/giving instructions to a group of up to 40 people
Proficient in Google Drive/Docs/Sheets
Some experience in live theatre or comedy production is good, but you need not be a lifelong SM — we’re willing to do some training.
STIPEND: $600

FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER
ABOUT: KML is seeking a Fight Choreographer for Don’t You Die On Me! an all female sketch comedy show focused on the concept of action heroes sans the male gaze. Performances are in August 2019 at Flight Deck (1540 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612).
RESPONSIBILITIES;
Attending 2-3 regular rehearsals (at KML HQ — 2101 Folsom St, SF) and 1 dress rehearsal (at Flight Deck/Oakland)
Adding or polishing fight choreography for short portions of the show as agreed upon with the Director
Ensuring safe practices are in place for the entirety of the 60 minute production
Appointing Fight Captain from cast
Implementing fight call procedure for rehearsals and performances
REQUIREMENTS:
Comfortable working with actors of a wide range of experience levels and physical abilities
Some experience with physical comedy a plus
Comfortable with quick problem solving and knowledge to adapt choreography to the needs and abilities of the actors
