Lobster Memory Lane – Andy Sciamana Learned How to Love Again

ANDY SCIAMANNA

What was your first show?
KML Patronizes the Arts (2009)

What was your last show or are you still with the group?
KML Conquers the Galaxy (2011)

What You Do/Did For the Group?
On good days, I was a writer.

Favorite Line in a Sketch (name the show too)
“Do the math!!” from KLM Preaches to the Choir (2009)
Dammit…there was another one from that sketch. It was when the priest essentially told the other priest that he wasn’t molesting enough children.

Favorite Memory/Moment from your time with KML (onstage or off)
The Resubmission Hat was always funny, especially when we had to pause while people pulled out their cellphones and took pictures.
Sitting in a room for three hours, with funny people, was always a great time. In a weird masochistic way, it was fun when a sketch bombed in the writer’s room. It’s never anything personal yet it’s TOTALLY personal. So it was fun because the whole room kind of had to deal with it and figure out how to make ultimately make the sketch work. It really was a team effort. We were all in the sinking boat together and the only thing that could save us were
some laughs.

How has KML turned your life around? :)
In many ways. I reconnected with my son. I learned how to love again. I took up trail running. There’s nothing more serious, than comedy. But being around people who really love comedy and the “science” and art of making an audience laugh was just a great experience for me. It felt like I was doing something pure and sacred. KML is a community and I was honored to have been a part of it.
