A creative and educational partnership, benefitting young writers

Since 2015, KML has partnered with 826 Valencia to teach youth sketch comedy writing classes, at no cost to the students or families.  

4 Weeks of Writing Workshops

Once a week for four weeks, experienced KML writers and instructors work with youth at 826, teaching them the fundamentals of sketch comedy writing. KML volunteers type up the kids' sketches, and a KML Head Writer and Director put together some of the sketches to be performed in a staged reading.

Seeing Their Work Performed

Once the writing process is concluded, the pros at KML take the written sketches and stage a reading with professional KML actors for a live audience. The writers and their parents get to see their comedic works come to life.
